Katina Barnes serves as the Assistant Director of Internships and Co-Ops at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, where she works on-site to foster student success through meaningful experiential learning opportunities. She brings a demonstrated history of working in higher education and the nonprofit sectors, with expertise in student engagement, staff development, leadership development, grant writing, and human services pedagogy. She holds a Master’s degree in Community Counseling, a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University, and an Associate of Arts in Fashion Merchandising from The Art Institute of Atlanta. Additionally, she is the President and CEO of Butterfly Village Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women to grow and achieve their full potential. Passionate about education and community development, Katina combines her academic background in urban education and leadership with her professional skills to create impactful programs and initiatives.
